What are the main reasons for attending our courses?

I have found that most people join a pottery course to relax and escape the stress of everyday life, to create, and to socialize. It is only after these expectations have been met that the satisfaction of achieving the goal of creating glazed ceramic products comes into play.

Although my pottery courses are group-based, the work itself is tailored to each individual, taking into account their abilities, desires, and the speed at which they wish to progress.

Autumn, winter and spring trimester

All though you can join a group at any time, the pottery classes are divided into 3 segments, lasting 3 months each.

NEXT UP: autumn trimester from October – December 2024

Vid Polončič - advanced class

Vid was introduced to pottery in 2011 when researching various aspects of clay and ceramic production processes under the mentorship of academic sculptor and potter Eva Peterson Lenassi. He is currently enhancing his knowledge and sharpening his skills under the guidance of Štefan Zelko from Prekmurje, one of the few contemporary traditional potters in Slovenia whose practices are UNESCO protected as intangible cultural heritage. Today, Vid leads his pottery workshops and creates in Ljubljana, various locations in Slovenia and abroad.

Ines Polončič - beginner's class

Ines is a musician and educator with over 15 years of teaching experience. Under the mentorship of Vid Polončič and Štefan Zelko, a pottery master from Prekmurje, she has learned traditional Slovenian pottery techniques. She pays special attention to the endangered Slovenian decorative arts, such as underglaze painting on clay, a skill she is learning from painter Slavica Cvetek. Ines creates unique clay products on the pottery wheel, enjoys hand-shaping the clay, and also uses plaster molds for casting. She works as an external mentor at the ceramics laboratory in the Creative Hub at Center Rog in Ljubljana.
